I recently had a fantastic stay at this luxurious hotel on the outskirts of the city. The location, nestled in a lovely forest area, provided a tranquil and serene atmosphere. Getting here was a breeze, thanks to the easy access with public transportation.

Although my overall experience was great, there were a few minor drawbacks. The waiter at the restaurant in the evening had difficulty speaking English, which made communication a bit challenging.

My whole experience was very disappointing. Receptionist was miserable, gave me keys to a room that was already occupied, had to wait over an hour for dinner. All very poor.

    Location

Room had no hotel information in it, not even hotel tel number, restaurant times etc (colleague commented on same in his room). Not enough hot water for a bath.Reception staff were unfriendly. Hotel had the feel of arrogance and complacency. Room service food was average in quality and expensive.

During our city break, we found the hotel to be in a great location, just a short distance from the main attractions and within walking distance of restaurants and shops. The staff were friendly and helpful, providing us with maps and directions to help us navigate the city. The rooms were clean and comfortable, with all the necessary amenities for a pleasant stay. We particularly enjoyed the delicious breakfast, with a variety of options to choose from.

The limited menu options for food and drink. It would have been nice to have a wider selection available, especially for longer stays.

There was no hot water in the evening and when I commented on check out there was not any concern shown by the receptionist

Run down needs investment. Too few staff and wedding venue so no place to go to avoid disco and noise.

The location in woodland adjoining Ashton Court MAnsion & country estate (public access) is very attractive. All staff were very pleasant and helpful. The leisure facilities appeared to be very comprehensive (but we didn't use them). Food was very good but somewhat overpriced - If staying for several nights, a short drive over Brunel's Clifton Suspension Bridge into the Clifton restaurant/bistro area might be preferable. I would recommend this hotel for the above reasons but suggest contact with the hotel regarding my following comments.....

The hotel is large and cateres for conferences and weddings - more attention to seperating private guests, particularly bedrooms, from the early hours 'partying' groups would make for a better experience. If we returned we would clarify this before booking. The rooms are internally well sound-proofed but not with regard to the inconsiderate corridor noise..... Our room was also difficult to cool/air and despite having the window fully open all night, was uncomfortably warm/close...... Yes we had a very bad night!

Location was good for our trip to T4 However food was very poor , pool area very run down If I was staying here for a wedding or special occasion I would be very let down The whole hotel needs some TLC The plus side was the very friendly helpful staff

Spent Christmas at an old country house near Bristol and had a great time. The hotel had recently been redecorated and the festive decorations were lovely. Enjoyed the warm and well-equipped indoor swimming pool and gym facilities. We also had a great afternoon in a nearby village and enjoyed the unique and individual shops. The bottles of toiletries in the room were full-sized, which was a nice touch.

The hotel might not be suitable for those who prefer modern facilities. The tennis court and sports facilities were outdated and the building was quite cold in areas.

The hotel is conveniently located on the outskirts of Bristol, allowing easy access to the dock area and other attractions. The rooms are clean and comfortable, with a well-functioning shower. The staff provides friendly and helpful service, especially the waiters/waitresses in the restaurant. The buffet breakfast offers a variety of options, including fresh pastries. The hotel also has a lovely conservatory and outdoor seating area for relaxation. the picturesque grounds and peaceful surroundings add to the overall charm of the hotel.

One downside is that some areas of the hotel, such as the gym and indoor pool, could benefit from renovations to make them appear less dated.
